Cocco’s newest album, きらきら, was released today. An initial listen reveals it to be far gentler than her previous albums. It seems that time has mellowed Cocco; time, and secret motherhood–it was recently revealed that Cocco has an 8-year-old son. I’ve been informed that hidden children are par for the course with rock star parents.
Almost a year ago, I mentioned that I saw Cocco write a song live on stage and refine it the following evening. Eight more months of polish and you have your big album finisher, Never Ending Journey.
This is my Cocco song. I was there! I saw her write it and play it and sing it for the first time ever. I felt the band’s fear when the song started and the audience’s triumph when the song worked. I will share my Cocco song with you because I like you guys a lot.

The goal of this mix was to bring together several extremely upbeat electronic tracks into a single mix. I cut a lot of good tracks simply because they were, well, a bit chill. This mix isn’t about “chill.” It’s about the BURNING PASSION OF 15,000,000 °C!
However, much as the sun is extremely bright and will destroy your vision if you directly stare at it, this mix is extremely, relentlessly, unrepentantly upbeat and may destroy your brain if you listen to it. This mix contains mid-90s diva house, Beatmania II DX as remixed for Rumble Roses, and Top 40 pop as stolen from the Finnish demo scene. It has Genki Rocket’s Heavenly Star, for goodness gracious’s sake. I may love this mix, but it will probably cause you abject physical pain. This is your first and final warning.
That said, you should hear the songs I cut for being “too much.”
