I dressed up as Scott McCloud’s Zot! villain 9-Jack-9 for Halloween. This is the latest in my popular “awesome, yet unrecognizable” costume series. (Though, three people totally recognized me!) I’m extremely happy with how this turned out.
I learned a few important lessons from this costume, most importantly: don’t choose a costume that prevents you from drinking at a Halloween party. You will take your mask off twenty minutes into the party, and spend the rest of the evening explaining that no, you are not the Music Man, Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins, or Tucker Carlson.
Thanks to Joe for taking such nice photos.

I think it turned out awesome! I don’t know the character, but the juxtaposition of the cheerful, old fashioned musical outfit with the black face and mirrored eyes is really creepy.

Lordy. I can imagine few things more dissapointing than to work that hard on a costume and
1. being mistaken for Tucker Carlson
and
2. having people think you were Tucker Carlson ON PURPOSE
Happy Halloween!

Look, Tucker Carlson would be scary, too.
I still like the Moogle suit…

The Moogle suit was classic. I am proud of having partially financed the reappearance of the Moogle suit. I’m going to be a trend whore this next Halloween and try to do Rorschach, I think, if I get inspired.
